Buying Your First Home in Marin County? We’re Having a Workshop To Help!

We’re seeing a lot of activity with first time home buyers, so to help give people the information they need to figure out whether or not they can buy a home, we’re having a workshop for first time home buyers in Marin County next Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 7 pm in our Greenbrae office.

Prices have come down significantly throughout Marin, interest rates are great, and there is plenty of inventory - it is the best time we’ve seen to buy since 1990, when we bought our first home here.

So we’re going to give buyers the education and tools they need to decide if they want to buy, and if  they do, get them in a position to do so. Featured speakers include Gina Kemsley of RPM Mortgage, who will talk about how to get an FHA loan with as little as 3% down, qualifying, and how much your payments will be. William Shine, of William Shine Company, will discuss the tax implications of home ownership, including what kind of deductions to expect and how much you will save on your taxes.

He’ll also discuss a hot topic - how to take advantage of the up to $7500 tax credit being offered now for first time home buyers.

Pat and I will talk about the home buying process, the most important factors in buying a home in Marin County, and also take a quick look at what kind of deals are out there right now. Want to know what the difference is between Chapman Park and Christmas Tree Hill in Corte Madera? Or why Bacich Schools are so good? Or what the commute time difference is between San Anselmo and Mill Valley? We’ll take them all on, so you can make an informed decision about where to live and what to buy.

It will be an informative, fun presentation, and will take less than an hour. We sent the invitation out to our clients last night via email, and are already getting RSVPs. Space is limited, so if you are interested in attending, please call soon.

Where: Frank Howard Allen, 511 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, Greenbrae, CA
When : Feb. 11, 2009,  7- 9 pm
