Loan Fraud Part 2: Guess What? Agents Talk To Each Other!

So there’s a great addendum to the loan fraud story from yesterday.

I called the agent that represented the buyer had wanted to purchase. It turns out that he had asked her to represent him also, on the same day, in the same transaction! She had been calling him,and sending him emails.

Now both of us realized he’d been trying to figure out which one of us will help him scam the bank. She called him and tells him that we spoke. He says he can’t talk, he’ll call her back. I call him, tell him the same thing - he says he’ll call me right back.

That was nearly a week ago. I’m not holding my breath, and neither is Joan, the other agent.

Bottom line though: Remember, good agents know and respect each other. About 20% of the agents working in Marin do 80% of the volume, so we get to know each other fast. We ‘re not into wasting time, and we all know it is a very small community, so very few people are out there trying to sink others.
